It would be nice to be able to download an mbox style
mailbox
with all the messages associated with an issue.
This could
then be used by an offline mail client to view
the issue and its
threads.
I thought I had seen this feature request before, but
I can't
find it now. Maybe it was on the rt list.

It was captured once in the past - not sure where it's gone.

I've always had a bee in my bonnet about storing all
Roundup's messages in an IMAP store, instead of in
files on the filesystem. That way, you're free to use any
IMAP client to browse the messages. Roundup then
stores a reference (Message-ID) to each message and
looks it up when necessary.
I guess this would be a different mail storage backend?
The IMAP store could be maildir(s) under
<tracker>/db/files ..
(Half-baked ideas at half-price!)
